Gurkirpa Industries operates a modern wire and cable manufacturing facility producing HILLTEK® and ULTRA-4® branded products to BIS standards. Every metre of wire leaving our plant is tested, certified and ready for the field.
State-of-the-Art Manufacturing
Our manufacturing plant is equipped with precision wire drawing, stranding, insulation extrusion and testing lines. We maintain strict process controls at every stage — from raw material intake to finished goods dispatch — to ensure consistent quality across every batch.
From Raw Material to Finished Wire
Raw Material Procurement
High-purity electrolytic copper rods and aluminium ingots are sourced from approved suppliers. Each incoming lot is inspected for chemical composition, dimensional accuracy and surface quality before being accepted into the production line.
Wire Drawing
Copper rods are drawn down through a series of precision dies on multi-die continuous drawing machines to achieve the required conductor diameter. The process is controlled to maintain tight tolerances on conductor cross-section and surface finish.
Annealing
Drawn conductors are annealed in a controlled atmosphere to restore ductility and achieve the required elongation and tensile properties as per IS 8130. Proper annealing ensures the wire is flexible and easy to handle during installation.
Stranding & Bunching
For flexible and multi-strand conductors, individual wires are bunched or stranded together on high-speed stranding machines. Lay length and direction are controlled to meet the applicable Indian Standard requirements.
PVC Insulation Extrusion
Conductors are passed through precision extrusion lines where PVC compound is applied as insulation. Extruder temperature profiles, line speed and insulation wall thickness are continuously monitored to ensure uniform coverage and correct insulation thickness.
Sheathing (Cables)
For multi-core cables and submersible cables, insulated cores are assembled and an outer PVC sheath is applied. The sheath provides mechanical protection, moisture resistance and identification of the cable type.
In-Process & Final Testing
Finished wire and cable is subjected to a comprehensive battery of tests including conductor resistance, insulation resistance, high-voltage spark test, tensile strength and elongation — all as per the applicable IS standard. Only wire that passes all tests is approved for dispatch.
Coiling, Labelling & Dispatch
Approved wire is coiled or spooled to standard pack sizes, labelled with brand, size, standard, batch number and length, and packed for dispatch. Traceability is maintained from raw material to finished goods through batch records.
Testing at Every Stage
Our in-house quality laboratory is equipped to perform all routine and type tests required under the applicable Indian Standards. No batch leaves the plant without passing our full test protocol.
BIS Certified Manufacturing
Gurkirpa Industries holds Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for its wire and cable products. Our manufacturing processes and quality systems are audited and approved under the BIS Scheme II (ISI Mark) for the applicable product standards.
